GFTU Education For Action Programme Held at Northern College, Wentworth Castle, Stainborough, Barnsley S75 3ET
4th – 8th December 2017, Monday 1pm – 4.30pm,
Tuesday to Thursday 9.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 9.30am – 12.30pm.
This course, held at Northern College in Wentworth Castle is intended
for experienced Reps who have completed the Health & Safety Part 1
course; and for more experienced Reps who would like to refresh their
training and learn some new skills in the rapidly changing world of work.
The course will cover a number of topics in depth and will include the
background and origins of specific Health & Safety legislation affecting the workplace; as well as the main legal requirements of Health & Safety regulations.
It aims to inspire confidence in Reps to be able to understand and to use existing Health & Safety legislation in order to improve Health & Safety standards at work; to understand the key legal requirements relating to risk assessment and to empower union Reps in order that they can use risk assessment strategies and their own union organisation to secure improvements in workplace safety.
Not ‘Health & Safety gone mad’ as the tabloids would scream: but a clear, no nonsense approach to making the working environment of members safer, healthier and more productive for all.
